
Accountant
Our client is a leading company in the real estate sector in Bulgaria, with a diverse portfolio of activities including construction, investments, property transactions and lending.
Due to the continuously growing volume of operations, we are looking for a highly qualified Accountant to join the financial team, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes and manages the entire accounting function in accordance with applicable legislation, National Accounting Standards, and the company’s financial and accounting policy;
- Prepares the annual standalone financial statements in compliance with National Accounting Standards;
- Represents the company and actively works as a key contact with external auditors;
- Ensures timely completion of the audit process;
- Prepares and is responsible for all necessary declarations and reports, including but not limited to monthly and annual VAT returns, corporate tax returns, statistical reports and ensures their timely submission to the Bulgarian authorities within the legally established deadlines;
- Provides tax analyses and advice, responds to ongoing tax inquiries from management and shareholders;
- Supports the CFO in further automating the accounting system at both group and subsidiary level, including the implementation of new systems;
Requirements:
- Higher education in Accounting and Control and/or Finance;
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years as a senior and/or chief accountant;
- Excellent proficiency in working with MS Excel and experience with accounting systems/ERP;
- In-depth knowledge of National Accounting Standards (knowledge of IFRS will be considered an advantage);
- Very good understanding of Bulgarian tax legislation;
- Independent, reliable, and able to respond quickly and accurately to multiple priorities;
