Job description

Our client is a well-established energy and environmental consultancy with over 10 years of experience in developing and implementing European projects focused on air quality, water, biodiversity, waste management, energy efficiency, and the green economy. They also support IT developments, including the testing and implementation of GIS and ERP modules to enable improved measurement, monitoring, and policy compliance in these areas.

As their current focus is on the LIFE Programme, they are seeking a motivated European Projects Expert to assist with technical and communication activities during the implementation phase of ongoing projects. In addition to working in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment – offering access to cutting-edge research and developments in green energy, climate, energy efficiency, and biodiversity – the role also provides opportunities for growth in project management and offers an attractive remuneration package. The position is based in Sofia and supports a hybrid work model.


European Projects Expert


Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination, reporting, and documentation of ongoing EU-funded projects.
• Support the preparation and submission of project proposals in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
• Identify, analyze, and monitor funding opportunities under European programs (e.g., Horizon Europe, LIFE).
• Draft clear and concise reports, summaries, and presentations for internal use and for communication with stakeholders.
• Liaise with national and international institutions, project partners, and funding bodies.
• Contribute to research, data analysis, and planning activities related to ongoing and prospective projects.
• Perform administrative and coordination tasks related to project delivery and compliance.

Requirements:

• University degree in European Studies, Economics, Energy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 year of prior experience supporting or coordinating EU-funded projects (e.g., administrative, technical, or reporting support).
• Solid understanding of the project lifecycle in the context of European funding mechanisms.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong technical skills, including formatting and handling complex text, numerical, and tabular data (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken); knowledge of another EU language is a plus.
