Our client is a leading hedge fund newly entering the Bulgarian market, based in Sofia, and specializing in sophisticated investment strategies across multiple asset classes.
We are looking for a motivated Accounts Payable Accountant to join their Accounting team, supporting the global end-to-end vendor payment process — from invoice intake through disbursement and reconciliation — while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all AP activities.
Accounts Payable Accountant
Responsibilities:
Support the processing, verification, and coding of vendor invoices in a cloud-based ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
Assist with reconciling invoices against purchase records or inventory and allocating expenses to the appropriate cost centers.
Support vendor master data validation and assist with preparing vendor, supplier, and employee payments in line with internal controls.
Assist in executing payment funding requests, including invoice reporting, journal allocations, and disbursement support.
Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with reconciliations and financial reporting to support audit readiness and compliance.
Requirements:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
At least 2 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting, ideally within an international or regulated business environment.
Experience working with modern cloud-based financial or ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and able to take ownership of tasks while learning on the job.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting tools and financial data.
High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Excellent communication skills and professional working proficiency in English.
