
Compliance & AML Officer

Their clients include fintech companies, crypto platforms, and digital asset providers across Europe and beyond.
For their growing busines we are looking for a Compliance & AML Officer to help them maintain and scale a robust compliance framework aligned with EU and Bulgarian regulations, particularly around AML/CFT and virtual assets.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee risk assessments transaction monitoring;
- Oversee AML/CFT compliance, including customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring.
- Approve new business relationships in accordance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Monitor and investigate suspicious activity, produce SARs/STRs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Bulgarian and EU regulations, liaising with regulators when required.
- Develop and maintain compliance procedures, risk assessments, and internal controls.
- Deliver regular training and guidance to internal teams on AML/CFT requirements.
- Stay up to date with legislative changes, especially in crypto and virtual asset compliance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in compliance, AML, or legal roles, preferably in fintech, crypto, or financial services.
- Solid knowledge of EU and Bulgarian AML/CFT regulations and familiarity with crypto/virtual asset risk.
- Fluent in both Bulgarian and English (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CAMS, ICA, CFE) are a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the compliance function.
