Our client is a leading hedge fund newly entering the Bulgarian market, based in Sofia, and specializing in sophisticated investment strategies across multiple asset classes. We are looking for a motivated Fund Accountant to join their dynamic finance team, taking key responsibility for accounting, daily P&L reporting, and financial reporting of investment funds while collaborating with internal finance, operations, risk teams, and external partners like fund administrators to ensure accurate NAV calculations, portfolio valuations, and timely reports.
Fund Accountant
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily preparation and validation of P&L reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency across funds and strategies.
Collaborate closely with fund administrators, operations, and risk teams to identify and resolve any discrepancies or valuation issues that impact P&L results.
Perform regular reviews of portfolio valuations covering multiple investment strategies and asset classes, including equities, fixed income, FX, and credit instruments.
Contribute to the month-end NAV process by verifying reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash balances.
Review and validate all fund-related accruals — both investment and non-investment — to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Support investor reporting activities by assisting with allocation reviews and coordinating the timely release of investor statements.
Requirements:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of fund accounting or product control experience.
Solid knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP; strong understanding of investment products across Equity, Rates, FX, and Credit.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with fund administration/ERP systems (e.g., SS&C, Enfusion, Arcesium preferred).
ACCA, CFA, or similar qualifications considered a strong plus.
Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, control mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in English.
