Our client is a fast-growing IT company that provides professional consulting and software development services for clients worldwide in various industries. They are now looking to attract an experienced and confident IT project management professional to join an ongoing, high-impact program for one of the largest banks in Europe. The person in this role will be part of a dedicated delivery team, working on a series of well-defined projects within a larger regulatory program. The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management, risk handling, and coordination skills. This includes planning and organizing the efforts of both IT and non-IT experts, identifying potential roadblocks, and ensuring tasks are delivered in alignment with broader program goals.
This is a full-time position based in Sofia, with a hybrid work model and strong exposure to enterprise-level banking systems and transformation initiatives.

IT Project Manager (Banking Project)
Responsibilities:
• Act as the single point of coordination for a delivery team working on projects within a larger regulatory program.
• Track deadlines, progress, and interdependencies across multiple IT workstreams and internal banking platforms.
• Collaborate directly with project managers, team leads, and technical stakeholders across the client’s ecosystem.
• Identify and escalate critical risks or delays to program management and relevant senior stakeholders.
• Maintain structured project tracking, including timelines, risk and issue logs, and health/status reporting.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, IT execution, and strict regulatory deadlines.
• Represent the consultancy in key stakeholder meetings and maintain a high level of professionalism on-site.
• Support knowledge transfer and smooth handover during the post–go-live support phase.
Requirements:
• Degree in IT, Project Management, Business Administration, or another related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager in complex environments.
• Previous experience coordinating and tracking the tasks of a dedicated delivery team.
• Experience managing regulatory, banking, or enterprise-level IT projects would be an advantage.
• Confident communicator — assertive and clear when handling high-pressure situations.
• Ability to manage dependencies across multiple teams and act with ownership.
• Familiarity with hybrid delivery environments – the current project follows a waterfall approach, but future projects will include Agile elements.
• Hands-on experience with structured project tracking, escalation handling, and stakeholder management.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
